Clinical Research Nurses
The Clinical Research Nurse is responsible for the evaluation, planning, implementation and documentation of scientific research utilizing human subjects. He/she may also be responsible for the recruitment of patients and patient counseling and care in addition to ethical oversight of the clinical research and the compilation of results. Clinical Research Nurses ensure that all research is conducted in compliance with Good Clinical Practices, regulations and guidelines. He/she may often assist in the gathering of data and statistics and continually report patient feedback to coordinators, managers and stakeholders.
Qualified candidates for this line of work must be registered nurses and trained in Good Clinical Practices in addition to being familiar with clinical research processes and procedures. Experience with healthcare-related software packages may also be a requirement, as data collection is often conducted with the help of sophisticated data collection software.
